ROSE HILL COURTS
HISTORY

Rose Hill Courts is one of the oldest public housing complexes in the City of Los Angeles.  The complex consisted of fifteen structures that included an administration building and fourteen apartment buildings containing 100 dwelling units.  Rose Hill Courts was completed in June 1942 and opened to defense workers later that year.  After the war, the property became public housing again as many of the residents returned to other parts of the country, or found housing elsewhere.  Rose Hill Courts filled an essential need for new quality housing in Los Angeles during and after the Second World War.
